The six visitors from Hennebont and their Mumbles hosts gathered for farewell cakes and coffee at the end of their “unofficial” visit to Mumbles in June 2015.
Anniversary celebrations in Hennebont
A party from Mumbles will visit Hennebont to participate in the official celebrations on Friday 19 September of the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Mumbles–Hennebont twinning charter. Following a formal welcome when the party arrives on September 15, the agenda for the intervening days includes anniversary celebrations around the town of Hennebont, an excursion to the neighbouring city of Lorient, including the wartime submarine pens, a barbecue, and a visit by coach to the drained reservoir of Guerlédan. Mumbles Community Council will also be represented.
Six have an adventure in Mumbles!
A group of six from Hennebont visited Mumbles from June 14–20 to stay with families from Mumbles, who joined them in some enjoyable activities. These included a visit to Carreg Cennen, walks to Whiteford Point and from Southgate to Mumbles, and a boat trip to Ramsey Island. There was also an official reception at the West Cross Inn and a meeting with representatives of Mumbles Community Council to discuss arrangements for the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Mumbles–Hennebont twinning charter, which will take place in Hennebont in September.
