Other highlights were a tour of Gower, a day trip to St Fagan’s, a guided visit to the new Swansea Bay university campus, a historic boat trip on the Tawe, and a visit to Dinefwr House and Castle.
The Hennebont party included, for his own first visit, the town’s new mayor, André Hartereau, and his wife, Marguérite. This reflects the depth of our Breton partners’ commitment to the ethos and spirit of twinning.

Farewell to our guests from Hennebont
September 2016
Another chapter has appeared in the story of happy and successful exchange visits between the twinned communities of Hennebont and Mumbles. This year it was Mumbles’ turn to host.
The 15-strong party from Hennebont arrived on Saturday September 3 and accommodation for them was shared between TAM members’ homes around the village. A full programme of formal and informal activities was arranged, which included signing the visitors’ book in the Swansea Lord Mayor’s Parlour, a lunchtime reception and exchange of gifts hosted by Mumbles Community Council, and an evening reception in the Swansea Mansion House hosted by the Deputy Lord Mayor.
